Summer Jewelry Care

So it's summer.

Time for the Beach, am I right?
And for all of you who love showing off those rocks, there's some things to remember before jumping in the pool with your jewelry on.

For Starters, Salt and Chlorine can be extremely damaging to Gold, Platinum or Silver!
Plated and Fashion Jewelry are also at risk of fading or becoming discolored, So here are some tips to keep your shiny things safe:

1. Never wear Silver, Plated or Fashion jewelry when swimming in chlorine or salt water!
It can tarnish, fade or worse, corrode!

2. Salt Water can cause Gold and Platinum jewelry to rust and in severe cases become corroded.
So if you just can't bare to take your jewelry off when swimming, then make sure to wash all of your jewelry with a mild soap and rinse very well!

3. Chlorine can cause Gold and Platinum to discolor or dull. If you have a local jeweler, it can usually be polished back to its former shine.

4. Treated Stones can be affected by the sun.
Depending on how the stone was treated, It can cause fading and discoloration.

5. Leather, Wood and Corded Jewelry can become warped and discolored in any type of water.

There's always options for people who still want to wear jewelry:

1. Silicone Bands.
Make sure its 100% Medical grade Silicone!

2. Get a cheap replica.
You can get silver and CZ rings, earrings, necklaces and more for cheap to wear in place of your favorite pieces. That way you don't have to worry as much about them getting messed up.

Good Luck!
